In the context of the Bachelor Thesis we are dealing with onboarding processes within companies. In recent years, onboarding has become a central concern for many companies. However, academic career starters often lack practical experience in professional life. Due to their high degree, these young professionals are expected to have a high level of expertise and organization and are therefore not actively supported. We try to support the users well through the probationary period with the help of our application, so that it enables a smooth start.

Project description and goal

In order to improve the career entry process and thus the future of the coming generations, it is important that employers increasingly engage with onbaording processes and take the initiative to adapt them to the new employees. A well-designed, defined and user-centred onboarding process can help new employees to find their way around quickly and to be more productive and satisfied in their jobs. We believe that an ideal career entry can help new employees find their way around quickly, become more productive and, most importantly, more satisfied in their jobs. This ultimately has an impact on the employer and the bottom line.

Login and registration

The login process is simplified by using the company's account data to log in. Personal data is already stored and does not have to be entered again, which saves time.

Preboarding

Preboarding gives users the opportunity to prepare for their new environment 5 working days before they officially start their job. This is not obligatory and is done on a voluntary basis.

Dashboard

The dashboard provides general information about the current status of the onboarding process, the associated tasks and deadlines. The general information includes an overview of the day, what needs to be done and which appointments are scheduled for the current week. This is designed to be simple with little information content to avoid overload.

Onboarding

In order to maintain transparency and give users an overview of the onboarding period, these are presented in a roadmap of the trial period in the menu item "Onboarding". This shows which phase users are in and which still need to be mastered.

Trainings & Workshops

The menu item "Trainings and Workshops" contains compulsory trainings and workshops that users can search for, filter and also register for.

Q&A

Department-specific information is recorded and made available in the Q&A. Identified information can be recorded and shared there. Suggestions are also made to users based on the phase they are in.

Requests

In board.me, users can search for, filter and complete desired applications. It also automatically transmits information that has already been given. Requests are suggested to users based on the phase they are in. This counteracts the lack of knowledge about the opportunities in a company.

Projectbriefing

The project briefing is divided into several components that are important for a successful briefing. These consist of the following components: Dashboard, Process, Goal, Team, Working methods, Finances and Research results.
